Gentleness is power under control.
The Gentleness of Jesus
- Jesus is the embodiment of gentleness (Matthew 27:14, Revelation 5:6, Matthew 11:28-30)
- Matthew 12:20 quotes Isaiah 42:3 “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.”
- TWO things about a reed:
- 1. It was weak.

- So often people are like bruised reeds. (Psalm 103:15-16)
- Jesus is gentle and will not break a bruised reed
